The rate for a translation is generally based on the length of the source text and your chosen service level. The length of the text is calculated by the so-called standard lines and these have a specific price according to the language combination and service Level.
If you have a continuous need for translations, we offer the chance to enter into a master agreement or an annual agreement with us. At the beginning of the year, according to the scope, special line prices will be agreed, which will be valid throughout the entire term of the contract.
Calculating the number of standard lines
A standard line consists of 55 characters including punctuation and spaces.
Example: Analysis of the source text reveals 5,610 characters. Divide this value by 55 and this equals the number of standard lines. In this case, this equals 102 standard lines.
There is little variation in the standard line prices between the different language combinations. However, there are higher base prices for Scandinavian, Chinese and Arabic languages.
Every translation has its own peculiarities and, therefore, Cruz Communications offer four different service levels, from which you can choose the right one for your individual project.
Each of our service levels required a different degree of work, which contributes to the respective price. You can choose from the following service levels:
Professional translationThe translation is completed by a qualified native speaker of the target language and is subject to a final check by the project manager.
Premium translationThe translation is completed by a qualified native speaker of the target language and is subject to proofreading by a second qualified translator (4-eyes principle). The translation is also subject to a final check by the project manager (complies with the EN 15038 standard).
Certified translationWith a certified translation, the document will be translated by a court-sworn translator of the target language, who guarantees the accuracy of the translation with his/her signature and stamp. There will also be a final project check by the project manager at Cruz Communications. With this type of translation there is an additional certification fee, which varies between translators.
Proofreading and editingTo accurately reproduce the source text, for documents which are to be published, in the target language, proofreading and editing are essential. Our proofreaders and editors correct translations, with regard to meaningful and correct reproduction of the source text, and check the completeness and accuracy of the translation.
